Michigan is cursed in Wisconsin.
The Wolverines once again couldn’t get the job done in Madison, as #3 Michigan fell to the unranked Wisconsin Badgers 65-62, but the Badgers needed a little halfcourt magic to make that happen.
The Badgers had a little help from Ben Brust (#1) to break Michigan’s heart. (USA Today)
With 6.9 seconds left, Michigan took the ball inbounds. With 3 fouls to give, the Badgers inexplicably allowed Tim Hardaway Jr. the opportunity to take a three, and the Michigan star swished it, leaving Wisconsin 2.4 seconds to run the floor.
It looked like an impossible task, but then, this happened…
Yeah. That just happened. Ben Brust took the ball towards the sideline at half court and put up a shot (not a heave, there was actually form to it) and drained it in cold blood.
The Kohl Center went ballistic, and the Badgers ended up taking the lead in overtime to hang on, through another Brust three pointer.
This win puts the Badgers at 17-7 (8-3 in the Big Ten), and Michigan falls to 21-3 (also 8-3 in the Big Ten)
